Lorne, Square sausage or sliced sausage, a firm favourite of the Scottish.
Though precise origins remains unclear. This distinct square shaped sausage is believed to originate from the region of Lorne in Argyll, with press references for 'Lorne Sausage' dating back to 1896. Often eaten in the Scottish variant of the full breakfast or in a breakfast roll. The sausage is also an appropriate size to make a sandwich using a slice from a plain loaf of bread cut in half.
